Benefitfocus Awards Scholarships to Two Charleston School of Law Students
CHARLESTON, S.C., June 15, 2022 - Benefitfocus, Inc. (NASDAQ: BNFT) today announced it has named Charleston School of Law student Shane Hursh as the recipient of the 2022 Paris Cavic Memorial Scholarship Award.
Benefitfocus established the Paris Cavis Memorial Scholarship Fund in 2021 to honor Paris Cavic, who served as Benefitfocus’s General Counsel for 12 years before passing away in November 2020. Granted each spring, the scholarship is awarded to aspiring second- and third-year law students at the Charleston School of Law who aim to continue Cavic’s legacy of mentorship and community service. The 2021 scholarship was awarded to Erika Collins.
“Paris was an accomplished legal professional, whose quick wit and big heart were inviting sources of humor and comfort for so many who knew him,” said Alpana Wegner, Chief Financial Officer at Benefitfocus. “Paris had a strong passion for helping others, in particular mentoring young, aspiring lawyers to further their professional careers.
