Mason Holland, one of our founders, has been our Executive Chairman and a member of our board of directors since our founding in June 2000. He is responsible for the coordination of strategic partnerships with industry leaders and client relations. Mr. Holland founded American Pensions, Inc. in 1988, serving as its Chairman and President from 1988 to 2003. Mr. Holland’s other ventures have included establishing Holland Properties, LLC, a real estate development firm, in 1989, and acquiring Eclipse Aerospace, Inc., a jet aircraft manufacturer, in May 2009, for which he serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Holland attended Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia.
Ray August is President and Chief Executive Officer of Benefitfocus (NASDAQ: BNFT). He leads a team of over 2,000 Benefitfocus associates who deliver technology innovation to the U.S. healthcare and benefits market. Ray joined Benefitfocus in 2014 as Chief Operating Officer, overseeing the company’s operations, customer success and financial growth. He was promoted to President in April 2015. With more than 30 years of experience in technology, insurance, and banking, Ray is passionate about delivering world-class customer service and organizational excellence.
Accountable for defining and executing Benefitfocus’ strategic plan and improving results for Benefitfocus’ customers, Ray oversees a team of technology and benefits professionals who have cultivated the most influential customer community in the U.S. benefits industry.
Before joining Benefitfocus, Ray was President and General Manager for the $3 billion Financial Services division of CSC, a multi-billion dollar global IT firm (now DXC Technology). Prior to CSC, Ray served as the Group Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Great Plains Software (later acquired by Microsoft and rebranded as Microsoft Dynamics GP). He previously held a management consulting position at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Ray is a member of the AICPA. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina (USC). He is an avid USC Gamecocks fan.
Jonathon Dussault brings to Benefitfocus extensive strategic and financial leadership experience in the benefits technology sector. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President and Senior Finance Officer of WEX Health, Inc. (formerly Evolution1, Inc.), a leading provider of cloud-based Health Savings Account technology and payment solutions for the healthcare industry and a subsidiary of global payments processing company, WEX Inc. (NYSE: WEX). Prior to that, Mr. Dussault served in multiple roles at Evolution1, most recently as Chief Financial Officer, until its acquisition by WEX. Earlier in his career, Mr. Dussault was Vice President of Corporate Development at Women’s Health USA and was responsible for financial planning and analysis at Open Solutions, Inc. Mr. Dussault began his career at Arthur Andersen LLP. He holds a B.S. in accounting from Babson College and earned his CPA certification in Massachusetts.
